Introduction
This is some basic information needed for new students of Youthreach Naas. If you have any questions about anything covered here please feel free to contact the centre.
Paperwork
The following forms are sent home during the Introduction Programme. All forms and paperwork must be completed and returned to the centre before the student attends for the first day. Forms may be completed by a student where they are over 18 years of age and must be completed by a guardian where under 18.These forms include:
· Contact Details for student and next of kin
· Medical questionnaire
· Bank Details
· Consent Forms
1) Outdoor Pursuits
2) SEN Programme
3) Digital Access Rights
· List of proof to be provided to the centre. (All originals will be returned)
1) Birth Certificate
2) Proof of Address
3) Letter of release from school
4) Medical Card
5) Exam Results
Please Note: All students need to have their own bank account. Allowances cannot be paid into some-one else’s bank account, a Post Office account or a Credit Union account.
Training Allowances
A training allowance is paid to all students who are citizens of the European Union. It is not possible to pay an allowance to a student who is not from the European Union. Allowances are paid based on a 35 hour week at 7 hours a day. The amounts are
· 16 years old - €40/week
· 17 years old - €40/week
· 18 years old - €188/week
In some cases students may be entitled to a travel allowance. Please contact the centre for details.
Please Note: Travel allowances are not paid on days that the centre is closed.
Student Leave
Sick Leave
Students are entitled to 7 certified sick days per academic year. (September –August) Sick certs must be presented to the centre before 10:30 on the Friday of the week sick leave is taken in order for payment to be made. Only three days may be claimed in a week.
Leave
Students are entitled to 3 days leave per academic year. This must be requested in writing in advance and approved by the co-ordinator.
Special Leave
Students will be granted leave to attend meetings with social workers, JLO’s, court dates etc. Written proof must be presented to the centre by 10:30 on the Friday of the same week in order for payment to be made.
Please Note: Travel allowance is not paid for leave days.
Holidays
Students receive holidays 4 times a year; Halloween, Christmas, Easter and the Summer. For all holidays the students attendance in the weeks preceding the holiday will be taken into account when calculating holiday pay.
Please Note:
· Travel Allowance will not be paid over the holiday period.
· Allowance will only be paid when the student is returning after the holiday period.
· There is no ”Christmas Bonus“. In some cases a double week may be paid, but that depends on the days that the banks will be closed over Christmas.
All payments are made a week in hand.
