YOUTHREACH is an integral part of the national programme of second-chance education and training in Ireland and is a central part of the Government's contribution to the achievement of a lifelong learning society.

The programme is directed at unemployed young early school leavers aged 16-20. It offers students the opportunity to identify and pursue viable options within adult life, and provides them with opportunities to acquire certification. It operates on a full-time, year-round basis.

YOUTHREACH Naas opened initially in May 2006 with the co-ordinator and a number of part-time staff. By July 2007 the centre was fully staffed and operational. YOUTHREACH Naas is a 25 place centre, with 4 full time staff and a number of part-time staff.

The centre offers two certified courses, FETAC level 3 General Learning and FETAC level 4 General Vocational Skills. Alongside these two programmes the centre also runs a Lifeskills programme and a Special Educational Needs programme. It is generally a two year programme, but staff try to tailor the programme to meet the needs of students as much as possible.
